Party band Switzerland

MAXiN, a party band from Switzerland, makes losing control look elegant. A party rarely announces the moment it truly begins. There are conversations, drinks, the occasional glance at a watch. Then the room changes, and nobody is quite sure who was first onto the dance floor. MAXiN plays private celebrations, corporate events and long nights, whether in a grand hotel or a mountain hut.

What a night with MAXiN sounds like

overdress! at the Zurich Opera House, March 2024. Costumes, a mirror ball above the tiers and a room that ends up on its feet.

A party band with no setlist at all

There is no list to work through. The bandleader reads the room, chooses what comes next and signals it to the musicians, often before the current song has ended.

So the songs run into one another without a gap, with the energy of a band and the flow of a DJ set. When the evening needs room for conversation, the band steps back.

Two and a half hours straight

MAXiN plays for two and a half hours without a break. Once a dance floor comes alive, there is little reason to interrupt it. Speeches, cake and other planned moments can be accommodated.

Music and repertoire

Pop, dance, house, R&B, hip-hop, rock, funk, soul, Latin, Italo, jazz and world music. As a cover band, MAXiN plays songs you know, in an order you don’t. Around 250 songs are in the repertoire.

We sing in English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and German, including Swiss German. Song requests are welcome; the band decides when they fit the evening.

Line-up and prices

Two musicians, the standard four-piece, or up to nine, often with saxophone. At the microphone, Fabienne Hauser; behind the drums, Gianni D’Agostino, singer and bandleader.

In the standard line-up, CHF 4500 to 7500 depending on the date and set-up, including sound and lighting for up to around 800 guests, and up to CHF 11000 with eight to nine musicians. Travel within German-speaking Switzerland is included. There are no hourly surcharges. The right line-up depends on the occasion. A Friday in February is not a Saturday in June. We’ll give you the price for your evening after a first conversation.

Our own sound and lighting

L-Acoustics for sound, ACME and Astera for lighting and LED. How the equipment looks in the room matters to us as much as how it sounds: no stray cables, nothing that does not belong in the picture. With the musicians performing standing up, the band needs only two to six square metres, depending on the line-up.

Where the party band has played

We have played at venues including the Zurich Opera House, the Bürgenstock Resort, Badrutt’s Palace in St. Moritz, the Fairmont Montreux Palace, the Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken, Moon & Stars Locarno and every year on the MS Sonnenkönigin on Lake Constance. Plus Zug, Winterthur, Geneva, Lausanne with the SwissTech Convention Center and the Domaine de Pra Roman, Valais with The Dom Hotel in Saas-Fee, and abroad. All clients and venues are listed on the References page.

Party band in Zurich

A costume ball at the Opera House, as elegant as a premiere: a mirror ball above the tiers, and at midnight the whole house is dancing. That was overdress! in 2024 and 2025. MAXiN has played its biggest parties in Zurich, and some of the finest in a single room with a hundred guests.

More than 200 performances in the canton of Zurich since 2009. At the Zurich Opera House for overdress! in 2024 and 2025, sold out both times. Other venues include The Dolder Grand and the Dolder Bad, the Baur au Lac, the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, the Widder, the Storchen, the Carlton, the Uto Kulm, the Hotel Belvoir in Rüschlikon, Schloss Sihlberg, the Kameha Grand, the Hyatt Zurich, the Kongresshaus Zurich, the Zunfthaus zur Meisen, the Swiss Re Centre for Global Dialogue, the Lindt Home of Chocolate, THE HALL and the Samsung Hall in Dübendorf, the Giesserei Oerlikon, Kaufleuten and regularly at the Eventalm in Rümlang.

A guild ball at the Zunfthaus zur Meisen, where the ceilings are older than any song in the repertoire, sounds nothing like a company party at the Giesserei Oerlikon or an event at The Circle by the airport. Line-up and volume are set by the room.

For a sense of such a night, see overdress! at the Zurich Opera House under Live performances.

Bern and the Bernese Oberland

In the afternoon a drink on the Gurten, in the evening the Kursaal is dancing.

More than 30 performances in the canton of Bern since 2013, including the Victoria-Jungfrau in Interlaken, the Grandhotel Giessbach, in Gstaad at the Hotel Olden and the Gstaad Yacht Club, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern, Schadau Castle in Thun, Piz Gloria on the Schilthorn, the Kursaal Bern, the Kulturcasino, the Bern Town Hall, the KKThun, the Stade de Suisse, the Bierhübeli, on the Gurten and at the Grimsel Hospiz.

Basel

Under the wooden ceilings of the Safran Zunft, at the Volkshaus or in the Reithalle Wenkenhof in Riehen, and no two of those evenings sounded alike.

More than 30 performances in and around Basel since 2013, including Schloss Rotberg, the Safran Zunft, the Congress Center Basel, the Volkshaus, the Saalbau Rhypark, the Stücki Park, the Sandoase, the Reithalle Wenkenhof, the Landgasthof Riehen and the Bad Bubendorf.

Schloss Rotberg is a castle in the middle of a forest; the Congress Center is an exhibition hall. We bring our own sound and lighting and tune both to the room.

Lucerne and Central Switzerland

The lake lies still, a saxophone plays on the terrace, and an hour later the hall is shaking.

More than 80 performances in Lucerne and Central Switzerland since 2008, including the Bürgenstock Resort, the Hotel Palace Luzern, the Hotel Schweizerhof Luzern, the Grand Hotel National, the Château Gütsch, the Art Deco Hotel Montana, the Hotel Seeburg, the Astoria and Penthouse Luzern, the MS Diamant on Lake Lucerne, the KKL Luzern, the Kempinski in Engelberg, the Seehotel Baumgarten, the Vitznauerhof, the Park Hotel Weggis, the Lido Beach House, the Messe Luzern, the Gaswerk Seewen and the Freiruum event hall in Zug.

A summer evening at the Lido Beach House, feet almost in the water, or a party at the Gaswerk Seewen, where the walls have heard a thing or two.

St. Gallen, Thurgau and Lake Constance

This is home. On Lake Constance, where the MS Sonnenkönigin turns into a dance floor every summer. And in St. Gallen, where the OpenAir has its own rules.

Around 150 performances in Eastern Switzerland since 2010, including the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz with the Grand Hotel Quellenhof, Laufen Castle at the Rhine Falls, the Kartause Ittingen, Schloss Girsberg and Schloss Hagenwil, the Lilienberg, the Krone in Gottlieben, the Bad Horn, on the Säntis, at the OpenAir St. Gallen, the Lagerhaus St. Gallen, the Würth Haus Rorschach, the Pentorama Amriswil and the Thurgauerhof Weinfelden. Every year we play on the MS Sonnenkönigin on Lake Constance, including the White Night.

The WEGA when the tent is boiling, a graduation party at the Würth Haus Rorschach with the lake outside the windows, an evening within the monastery walls of the Kartause Ittingen.

For a sense of such a night, see the White Night on the MS Sonnenkönigin under Live performances.

Aargau

Lenzburg Castle on its hill, the Trafo in Baden, where transformers were once built: Aargau has places with a past.

More than 30 performances in Aargau since 2010, including Lenzburg Castle and Habsburg Castle, the Grand Casino Baden, the Stadtcasino Baden, the Trafo Baden, the Kultur & Kongresshaus Aarau, the Hotel Krone in Lenzburg and the Casino Bremgarten.

Graubünden

Outside the snow crunches; inside, the jackets come off.

More than 30 performances in Graubünden since 2013, including Badrutt’s Palace, the Suvretta House and the Kulm Country Club in St. Moritz, the Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina, the Hotel Castell in Zuoz, the Giardino Mountain in Champfèr, the Waldhaus Flims and the Schweizerhof Flims, the 7132 Hotel in Vals, the Schatzalp in Davos, the Hotel Piz Buin in Klosters and the Guardaval in Scuol.

Live band in Ticino

On Lake Maggiore, the evening has its own pace. An Italian classic can have half the room singing along, and MAXiN can perform an entire set in Italian on request.

Venues include the Giardino Ascona, most recently in 2026, the Hotel Eden Roc in Ascona, Moon & Stars in Locarno, the Seven in Lugano and the Lido di Bissone.

For a sense of such a night, see Moon & Stars 2025 in Locarno and the party at Poroli Special Boats in Magadino under Live performances.

Party band FAQ

How much does a party band like MAXiN cost?

In the standard line-up, CHF 4500 to 7500 depending on the date and set-up, including our own sound and lighting for up to around 800 guests, and up to CHF 11000 with eight to nine musicians. Travel within German-speaking Switzerland is included. We’ll give you the price for your evening after a first conversation.

Does the band take breaks?

MAXiN normally plays a continuous set of two and a half hours. Pauses for speeches or cake can be planned into the schedule.

Live band or DJ: which is better?

Both have their place. MAXiN plays live and moves from one song straight into the next, the way a good DJ set does. When an occasion needs room for conversation, the band steps back.

How early should we book?

There is no fixed rule. Many couples are in touch about a year before the wedding, some two years ahead, others only a few weeks before. And because plans change, a date that seemed taken sometimes becomes free again.

Can guests make song requests?

Of course. Requests are welcome. The band decides where they fit best in the evening.

Does MAXiN also play in the Bernese Oberland and the Engadin?

Yes, for example in Interlaken, Gstaad and St. Moritz.

Does MAXiN also sing in Italian?

Yes, and on request a whole set in Italian, or in Spanish or Portuguese.
