FAQ
Answers about line-up, music, process and enquiries for the live band MAXiN.
General
What is MAXiN?
MAXiN is a Swiss live band, wedding band and party band for weddings, corporate events and exclusive celebrations. Almost 20 years on stage, all over Switzerland and internationally.
Who is on stage with MAXiN?
The core is Fabienne Hauser as lead singer and Gianni D’Agostino as drummer, singer and bandleader, together for ten years. Around this core, the right formation of professional musicians comes together depending on the occasion. More on The band.
Which line-ups are available?
From two people on stage to an eleven-piece live formation. Acoustic and as a roaming band right among the guests, as a light version with little technology, or as the full line-up, often with saxophone.
Which line-up fits is something we discuss together. Advice is our greatest strength: we recommend what suits your occasion, not the most expensive option. More on the Line-ups page.
What music does MAXiN play?
Pop, dance, rock, funk, soul, Latin, Italo, jazz and world music. Current hits meet timeless classics, mixed live. More than 250 songs are in the repertoire.
In which languages does MAXiN sing?
Accent-free in German, English, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and French. On request even entire sets in one language, not just individual songs.
Process and costs
How long does MAXiN play?
Two and a half hours in one go. That is deliberate: an evening lives from its arc of tension. Once the dance floor is on fire and the guests are captivated, we don’t let them go. A break at the wrong moment costs energy that is hard to win back.
What does a live band like MAXiN cost?
MAXiN is not one of the cheapest live bands, and there is a reason for that: years of experience, our own arrangements, musical precision, professional technology and the ambition to deliver a performance at the highest level from the first to the last minute.
The price is usually between CHF 4500 and 7500. The exact price depends on date, location, line-up and schedule. Travel costs are included. Which line-up fits is something we work out together in a personal conversation. For a concrete offer we need the date, location, type of event and number of guests: send an enquiry.
Are travel costs included?
Yes. Travel costs are included in the price, usually also for performances abroad.
How early should you book MAXiN?
For weddings and the popular summer Saturdays we recommend seven months to a year in advance. For corporate events a few months are often enough.
MAXiN is deliberately selective about the events it plays. That is why dates keep remaining free, and short-notice bookings are often possible too. It is always worth asking.
Does MAXiN take breaks? Is there background music then?
What breaks? MAXiN plays two and a half hours in one go. At our gigs, only the guests take breaks, and usually not until we have finished.
What happens if a musician falls ill?
In almost 20 years and around 100 performances a year, there have been exactly two cancellations: a medical emergency on site and one case of force majeure.
We can replace instrumentalists immediately at any time. Our singer and our bandleader cannot be replaced, and that is deliberate: we prefer a fixed core to a pool of interchangeable musicians. Should it affect the core, we recommend a befriended band we work with.
How much space does MAXiN need?
Surprisingly little. Depending on the line-up, between two and six square metres, as our musicians play standing. We bring as much equipment as the event needs, and not one box more. And we position ourselves so that the room still looks harmonious.
Does MAXiN play outdoors?
Yes, we play anywhere. In an acoustic line-up we don’t even need electricity.
Does MAXiN need electricity?
Not necessarily. Acoustic and as a roaming band, MAXiN plays with no electricity at all. The light version gets by with little technology, with or without electricity depending on the venue. The full line-up with its own sound and lighting needs electricity.
Can MAXiN play among the guests?
Yes. As a roaming band, MAXiN plays acoustic and mobile, right among the guests and at any spot you like. On request also as a pop-up concert on call, right here and now. More on the Line-ups page.
Can guests make song requests?
Of course. The artistic execution stays with the band, though.
Can guests use the microphone for speeches?
Of course. Ideally we know beforehand, so it fits perfectly into the schedule.
Does MAXiN bring its own sound and lighting?
Yes. MAXiN works with high-end brands such as L-Acoustics, an international standard for professional live sound, as well as ACME and Astera for lighting and LED. Brand, model and data sheet are fully open on request.
Live band or DJ: which is better?
MAXiN combines both. Live instruments and vocals merge with beats and loops into one continuous flow, with no gaps between songs. You get the energy of real musicians and the seamless flow you would otherwise expect from a DJ.
Can we meet MAXiN beforehand?
Yes, and we recommend it. In a personal meeting we discuss what really carries the evening, ideally before the event technology is booked. The videos of real performances also give a good impression.
Can you see MAXiN perform in public?
Yes, there are public performances. But MAXiN has many faces: at a town festival we play differently than at a gala in a grand hotel. The best impression for your event is therefore a personal meeting.
Weddings
Will MAXiN play our first dance live?
Yes, if that is your wish, we play your first dance live.
Does MAXiN play from the ceremony to the party?
Yes. Acoustic and stripped back for the ceremony and reception, powerful when the party begins. The formation adapts to the moment. More on Wedding band.
Does MAXiN play weddings abroad?
Yes. MAXiN accompanies destination weddings, among others in Sardinia, on the Amalfi Coast, in France and Denmark. In Italy, the bandleader’s Italian background helps, from working with local partners to the logistics on site.

Does MAXiN play corporate events and galas?
Yes. Whether a client event, business function, Christmas party or international brand experience: line-up, sound and flow are tailored to the setting, the brand and the audience. More on Band for corporate events.
Does MAXiN work with event agencies?
Yes. MAXiN works directly with brands, agencies and event planners. Discretion is part of it: many of our corporate events are not publicly visible. Selected clients are listed under References.
